We are excited and proud to introduce the Turkish Plastic Ney! Made from PVC for high-durability and easy handling, this modern version is carefully crafted and masterfully tuned to produce the traditional pleasant sound we all know and love.

Any level player can now enjoy the Turkish Ney, with different tones, robust body for longevity, and the most comfortable experience.

Turkish Ney is designed very simply, yet able to produce three different scales, and known to be one of the main instruments in Classic Turkish music.

Divided into different categories by length, Turkish Ney features six finger holes in front and one thumb hole in the back, uncentered, so it can be played with any hand on top.

The flared mouthpiece is called Baspare (Bashpare) and it is very unique to the Turkish Ney. It has been traditionally made of ivory, ebony or buffalo horn, however, these days it is more common to use plastic or a similar material.

When a narrow stream of air is blown through the baspare and the flute is tilted to the side, it produces a lower note with more control, compared to other flutes like Persian Ney, for example, which need to come in closer contact with the teeth beneath the upper lip.
