Mid-East OUDR14N Arabic Oud Sheesham w/Gig Bag

This 14-string Egyptian-style Arabic oud features a resonant spruce soundboard and a beautifully crafted body made from alternating dark Sheesham and light lacewood staves. The oud is fitted with three sound holes, each surrounded by detailed decorative edging, and finished with three carved rosettes—one large central rosette and two smaller ones.

The fingerboard, bridge, pegbox, and tuning pegs are all made from solid Sheesham wood, while the nut is crafted from cattle bone. As is traditional, the instrument is fretless, allowing for authentic Arabic maqam expression.

The oud has a 620 mm scale length and weighs approximately 2.3 lbs, making it comfortable to hold and play.

Important Note on Strings

Strings are not covered under warranty. Manufacturers strongly recommend replacing the strings upon receiving the instrument. Due to extended transit and environmental changes during shipping, string lifespan may be reduced, and occasional string failure can occur upon arrival.

For best performance:

• Students may consider changing strings every 3–4 months

• Professional or frequent players may need to change strings weekly

• If the instrument has been stored for an extended period, replacing the strings before playing is advised
