Roosebeck 6-Course Vihuela – Maple & Mahogany

Experience the authentic sound and craftsmanship of the Renaissance with the Roosebeck 6-Course Vihuela. Beautifully handcrafted, this historical instrument features a spruce soundboard paired with alternating maple and mahogany staves on the back and sides, finished in an elegant matte finish. The maple neck is fitted with an ebony fingerboard, traditional nylon tied frets, and three sheesham frets on the soundboard. Mahogany tuning pegs, an ebony-capped mahogany bridge, and an ornate mahogany mustache complete its classic appearance.

The Vihuela is strung with six courses (11 strings total): the first course is a single string, while the remaining five courses are double strings. Courses 1–4 use Nylgut® strings, while courses 5–6 combine Nylgut® and phosphor bronze wound strings for a rich, balanced tone. A stunning 4-layer parchment-style rosette decorates the central sound hole, adding exceptional historical detail.

Suggested tuning (low to high): G – C – F – A – D – G (Range: G2–G4).

A padded gig bag is included, featuring a three-sided double zipper for full opening, a front accessory pocket, padded carry handle, and adjustable shoulder strap.

String Care

Strings are considered consumable items and are not covered under warranty. For the best tone and performance, replace strings every 3–4 months, keep a spare set on hand, and wipe the strings with a clean, dry cloth after each use. If the instrument has been stored for an extended period, replacing the strings before playing is recommended.
